Earth and the Human Race

"It was the only color we could see in the universe. ... "We're living on a tiny little dust mote in left field on a rather insignificant galaxy. And basically this is it for humans. It strikes me that it's a shame that we're squabbling over oil and borders." (Taken from www.washingtonpost.com)

Recently we can read and hear discussions about global warming. There are suggestions on how to tackle this dilemma, however, there's not an exact solution. Even solution like tree planting (complement solution) has some setback due to some warnings that it may not be effective.

No matter what the suggested solutions are, most likely global warming will just be slowed down, but won't be resolved. The rate of global warming will be proportionate that of peoples' eagerness to advance our technologies and raise the comfort of living.

This issue of global warming can be viewed as unfair to third world countries in which people even have difficulty earning a living. Industrial nations are the major contributors to carbon dioxide, and they may need to take actions.

Carbon taxation is the suggested way of reducing carbon emission. But will itl help?! Most likely not coz rich nations can afford to buy and pay such hefty price just to maintain their positions in the industry.

Human race has made destruction to earth that seems impossible to reverse its effect.

We just hope that it's not too late to resolve this problem. And we'll keep our fingers crossed... Earth as far as we know is the only place that human beings can live... for now...
