Samson (Regina Spektor)
You Are My Sweetest Downfall

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first
Beneath the sheets of paper lies my truth
I have to go, I have to go
Your hair was long when we first met

Samson went back to bed
Not much hair left on his head
He ate a slice of wonder bread and went right back to bed
And history books forgot about us and the bible didn't mention us
And the bible didn't mention us, not even once

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first
Beneath the stars came fallin' on our heads
But they're just old light, they're just old light
Your hair was long when we first met

Samson came to my bed
Told me that my hair was red
Told me I was beautiful and came into my bed
Oh I cut his hair myself one night
A pair of dull scissors in the yellow light
And he told me that I'd done alright
And kissed me 'til the mornin' light, the mornin' light
And he kissed me 'til the mornin' light

Samson went back to bed
Not much hair left on his head
Ate a slice of wonderbread and went right back to bed
Oh, we couldn't bring the columns down
Yeah we couldn't destroy a single one
And history books forgot about us
And the bible didn't mention us, not even once

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first

Facade

Facade is defined as a superficial appearance or illusion of something, or an artificial or deceptive front.

It's the facade we're seeing on people especially those that maybe in trouble but don't want to show it outright. Different personalities have different ways of portraying themselves. And each one has his/her own reasons in doing so. Maybe the obvious reason is that a person doesn't want to show the real thing.

Selfishness?!

If referring to problem or not a good thing, first analysis it may not be selfishness. Usually we clean up our own shit, and not to bother others to help the cleaning.

Often we associate selfishness with good things. As human beings it's our tendency to keep good things as we can. That's selfishness!!!

We may thought that by not sharing problem or bad things, we're protecting our friends from it. As if we're the heroes trying to save the world.

But taking a second look, the act of protecting others becomes selfishness!!! That's when we consider our friends' emotions. Friends are there to help and share the burden. Often we ignore them coz we're afraid that they'll get hurt somehow.

A true friend can see through behind the facade, no matter how good it is.

It's ironic and painful to go through the process. It could have been better if the facade was not put up in the first place.

The GA Series

The first time I watched GA series, the story line caught my attention. However I concentrated on doing something else, and thought of watching it again if I have the chance.

A very good friend so interested in GA series lent the DVDs that she has. Once I got hold of the copies, I watched it till wee hours and can't get enough of it.

What made the series ticked with me?!

The story line for each episode is very simple, however, it touched me. As if you were watching yourself captured in film. There's a weird feeling watching the show. Deja vu!!! At times parallelism could be in the scenario or the character him/herself.

Why not getting enough of it?!!!

Well there are situations that you think there's a solution to the dilemma being presented, however in the end it's hanging. Reality dictates that too often they live happily ever after thing is not the ending. Life sometimes is a struggle depending on how we deal with situations. And the series itself presented what life is all about...

I'm looking forward to watch the next episodes...

"I can be a surgeon and committed at the same time"... I associated myself to this character...

Do I Make You Proud (Taylor Hicks)

I've never been
The one to raise my hand
That was not me
And now that's who I am
Because of you
I am standing tall
My heart is full
Of endless gratitude
You were the one
The one to guide me through
Now I can see
And I believe
It's only just beginning

[Chorus:]
This is what we dream about
But the only question with me now
Is do I make you proud
Stronger than I've ever been now
Never been afraid of standing out
Do I make you proud

I guess I've learned
To question is to grow,
That you still have faith,
Is all I need to know,
I've learned to love,
My selfish part of me,
And I've learned to
Walk on the road I believe.

Everybody needs to rise up
Everybody needs to be loved
To be loved
Everybody need to rise on
Everybody needs to be loved, to be loved

[Chorus:]
This is what we dream about
But the only question with me now
Is do I make you, do I make you proud
This is what we dream about
Never been afraid of standing out
Do I make you proud
Stronger than I've ever been
Never been afraid of standing out
Do I make you proud
Do I make you proud

Just to Feel that Way (Taylor Hicks)

I feel you letting go
Holding on, caught in between
Could you risk the pain
Take the chance your heart might bleed
Just to feel that way

Can't keep running in circles
I'm standing right here
Could you rewrite the story
But trade all the tears
Oh it's not too late to feel that way

Take a walk on the wire
I won't let you go
We'll follow the streetlights
Down this jagged road
We'll break it all open
Finding our way
We might end up broken and wounded
But baby it's worth it
for even one day
Just to feel that way

Let this moment unravel
and we'll be alright
The world might be gone tomorrow
But we're here tonight
Oh it's not too late just to feel that way
Let's walk on the wire
I won't let you go
We'll follow the streetlights
Down this jagged road
We'll break it all open
Finding our way
We might end up broken and wounded
But baby it's worth it
For even one day

Just to fall apart
I don't care
I'm not going anywhere
Without you being here by my side
Yeah I just don't feel right
We'll follow the streetlights

Let's walk on the wire
I won't let you go
We'll follow the streetlights
Down this jagged road
We'll break it all open
Finding our way
We might end up broken and wounded
But baby it's worth it
For even one day
For even one day
Just to feel that way
Just to feel that way

Rainbow Home

When I moved in to a new place, other occupants were not around. So I took the opportunity to take pictures of the difference places in the house coz I was alone.

After compiling the pictures, I realized that I'm living in a rainbow home. Hmm... I would rather call it a house than home. :P

I think what prompted me to take some pictures are the different colors, though I didn't take notice of this peculiar thing until I loaded the pictures to my computer. hahaha....

What surprises me most is the color of my room, and some more it has flowers though it's fake... :P Seems not a room for me... hehehe... Anyway, I have to stay here otherwise I become homeless and stay under the bridge....

Just thinking...

Unexpected handshake!!!

Unexpected things really do happen!!

We have new bosses in the company, and one is very active and hands-on approach. He asked a lot of questions, and seems like getting into the nerves of the employees. First, he called for general meeting and discuss his policies/principles in running the company. Then he called each employee to talk one-on-one.

So I had my turn to talk to him, and we're discussing a lot of things. He had a lot of questions obviously he got some on-hand information from other people. When a person starts to ask specific questions, then you might as well be frank as you can be, and foremost be yourself. State the facts accurately, and give some ideas that you think may help.

"Can I shake your hand?" he asked after our long discussion. We shook hands, of course!!! But I really didn't expect a handshake from him.

Hmm... I'm still wondering what that action means...

Lesson: Expect the unexpected!!!

There's always a first!

Is it left unlocked?! Not exactly.

I locked the door through the door knob, however, the padlock is nowhere to be found.

I called my colleague asking about the padlock, and she said it's inside her office and already on the way back home on board a bus. So, I had to leave the door without the padlock.

I was just surprised that it happened after so many years working here. Is it because the person is so stressed, and she forgot to put back the padlock after opening the door this morning? Or is it due to forgetfulness? Or is it something else?

Whatever the reason, there's always a first!!!

Unsolicited information

It's heart-warming to know that you may have unwittingly helped others in some ways, or let other people see a different perspective in life. Or you may have comforted them without trying not knowing that they may have troubles.

It's a bit surprising when people give you some information unsolicited. Some will tell you that they may want to do major things in life, yet you are the first person to be told of such information. You haven't even seen their faces, and yet they would tell you such information with ease and comfort.

Some can even tell you details on why they feel comfortable telling information that are only afforded to a close friend. Usually we refer a close friend for someone we know for quite sometime and can confide with, and can be a company to find comfort.

You would feel oblige to keep the information confidential coz you were privileged to know. Though there are times you will feel pressure when other people ask for contact numbers or msn address or some other stuff, and you were told to keep information to yourself... hmm...

And you may wonder why people ask if something has gone wrong with you when you don't even ask or tell. Somehow, others can sense that you were bothered or troubled. Such gesture is highly appreciated and can give some comfort.

Telling unsolicited information (confidential/personal???) to someone breaks down the barrier to make people comfortable to each other.

Lesson: Reap what you sow.

Is T3, Rise of the Machines, coming to reality?

T3 is the abbreviation for Terminator 3, the Rise of the Machines. It was a science fiction movie depicting robots that were programmed and can think of its own. These machines were not just robots, but were strong and thinking machines.

This information age you can read a lot of articles about robots and its applications. Robotics had been used for quite sometime now, and are heavily used in mass production of things and even as toys. Its main purpose is for automation.

For the past few years, a lot of scientists are researching and designing robots that may someday replace human beings doing routine tasks. It seems that scientists and researchers have made a good progress in this field.

When I was still in the university studying engineering, in the lab there's a robotic arm which can be commanded to pick up a ball from one point to the other. It can't do more than that task.

One aspect to realise T3 machines is to make robots more agile like human beings flexing a muscle. Humanoid robots and related-works keep researchers and academics busy to achieve human movement.

For starters, prosthesis are now widely used to replace human body parts like arms and legs. Though these are not flexible like muscles, but it means that mechanical parts can be attached to human body to be used as replacement. Heart pacer is a good example that is "actively" helping a person. There's even a device used to monitor a person's heart, though it failed to impress FDA in the US.

Recently, there's a humanoid robot which teaches itself to walk and may eventually run. More and more robots were designed to replace people especially for dangerous tasks like in the battlefield.

Realization of T3-like machines, or I Robots that have emotions yet still to come but dilemma may have already started. At least some people are thinking of future problems that may arise when humanoids co-exists with people.

Humanoids may still be a long way to reality, but there are people who always work to achieve such goal.

What will the world be like when humanoids interacting with real people? Will the world be a better place? Or will people become extinct? hahaha... Just wondering...
