Time (Korean Movie)

It's about a woman who underwent extensive plastic surgery to save a relationship she thought was slowly dying, and that love was merely to please each one.

Low self-esteem and self-confidence caused her to get envy and jealous. But it's her inferiority complex that drove her to solve the "problem" and did the unthinkable, that was to change her face.

It was plastic surgery that she thought will solve the relationship issue, but eventually it's the cause of its destruction.

What a tragic ending...

Politics???

It's election year in my home country, and all politicians are trying to get all the resources and help to win.

My friend told me few weeks back that she was lured to get into politics. Though she wanted to help people in need through politics, but her husband prevented her from doing so. Reason: politics is dirty!!!

Whether to join politics or not, we still discussed hypothetically if we were to join what can we do to resolve and improve the community. We agreed to think about it, and discuss next time. Unfortunately, we were very busy and not able to discuss on what we had agreed.

We only manage to say 'hello' or 'how are you doing?' from time to time, but not much discussion due to conflict of schedule or different time zones.

Recently, somebody asked me that if I were a leader, what steps can I suggest to resolve conflicts Asia.

hmmm... that me thinks!!!!

Any way this is my take on the question:

Asia's conflicts are mainly due to different ideologies, religion or poverty. These differences can only be solved through dialog and not through arm struggle. Singapore can be sighted as a good example in resolving conflicts. At it's infancy as a nation, riots occurred due to the main reasons stated.

1. Poverty. Equal distribution of wealth prevents some conflicts. Equal distribution doesn't mean that everyone get equal share of money or material things, but to let everyone live comfortably with basic needs like food, clothing and roof over the head. Government will help those that really in need, and encourage people to work and make a living. Also, government minimize bureaucracy to the lowest level to minimize corruption if not really eliminating it.

2. Religion. Different beliefs must respect, understand and tolerate each other's religion to avoid conflict. In Singapore, sometimes even rituals will be done in one location for all religion. With respect and understanding, nobody will assert that their belief is better than the others. At the end of the day, everybody is just praying to God.

3. Ideologies. Dialog, discussions and understanding must be done to avoid conflict. When people starts to assert that their ideology is better than the other, then conflict is most likely to occur.

Strong political leaders are needed to resolve or avoid conflicts, and bring the country/community to development.

Easier said than done!!!

The solution stated above are over simplified, and implementing such will be bumpy along the way for some reasons.

What is RFID?

Most of us would like to have devices (big boys' toys) as compact as possible. It would be convenient to bring around these devices especially for people who are always on the road.

Many technical guys or geeks may want to play around with such new devices, and entrepreneurs to make the most of out of it. However, there are people who opposed or wouldn't like to have such devices due to threat of privacy.

Sometimes you may wonder why there are people who always look at the negative side first before looking the positive impact that a new technology may bring.

We look at cellphones with cameras. When events or disasters happen, this cameras were used to record events as it happened, and everyone is happy especially the media. But these are the very the same devices used inappropriately like spying on people.

Any good thing is always like a two-edge sword! It can be used for good or bad purpose. Simple as that. This means that anybody can use it for his own purpose.

Post Editor Problem Fixed!!

It's nice to see the Preview function back in the Post Editor. :D

There were no changes made to resolve the problem. I think so...

Out of curiosity, I compared the source page last night which I saved when encountering the problem against the fixed source page, but I only found a difference which is the value of securityToken. The rest are the same. :(

I'm still wondering where the problem lies... Could it be my laptop? hmmm

Blogger Post Editor Problem?

Something is missing in the blogger's post wysiwig editor. I've been using this wysiwig option since I started blogging, but tonight I just found out that it's gone somehow. The editor seems back to the older version. Btw, I assume this is the older version coz I haven't seen/use such interface until now.

Why don't I see all the text formatting buttons? This is the help article I found. I'm using Firefox and my Mode Option is already set to "yes", but somehow wysiwig doesn't work. :(

I use my gmail account to make sure that formatting options are present and working, and they are. So I concluded that blogger post editor seems to have a problem. ???

I can edit my blog the longer way, but Preview option is the one that I miss the most. I like to use it for my own reasons.

Maybe there are some settings that I may need to do. But what is it?

Brain drain is a known phenomenon since 1960 and considered a problem for the development of a country as a whole. But it's the host country that most likely benefited from this phenomenon.

In third world countries, people especially those coming from countryside always look for opportunities to improve life and most likely end up in metropolis to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

City lifestyles and those from countryside are totally different. The person concerned need to understand and adjust to the environment, and most likely need to adapt the language.

Opportunities in the city seems endless, however, competition is also cutthroat. One must be one step ahead of the pack to make the difference.

According to Thomas L. Friendman, the World is Flat. This means that we have to run faster to stay relevant and in place. It could mean that anybody can compete with big companies for the playing field is flat.

Does flattening of the world resolves brain drain problem?

There are companies that do well with the flattening of the world. But to individuals without the necessary resources still have to struggle. There are few people who made it, but majority are still working for the big companies.

In third world, people working for companies with the same work load or more are only earning a fraction of their counter parts' salaries in developed countries. In effect, the employees were exploited by local companies.

When this type of information is available to the individual concerned, then he'll be encouraged to find opportunities abroad. If he can perform a good job locally, then probability is he can work and compete with others abroad. Sometimes staying in the country will be a second option when opportunities abroad are attainable.

There are other issues that may also affect individuals when migrating to other countries, but most often those will take the backseat when considering the pros and cons of the action taken.

Whatever reasons given by each individual, the bottom line is economics.

B2B Relationship

Business-to-business (B2B) is most often referred to as the marketing strategy between two businesses. But provided you have business relationship with other companies, it may be considered B2B.

Business relationship are basically subject to the predetermined agreement and parameters between the two businesses.

If for example a company is required to do some servicing, there must be an agreement on things that have to be done and delivered. Beyond those listed maybe done out of goodwill, but it would be unwise to meddle the other party's internal practices.

Why would a third-party company call up each personnel to make sure everyone is doing his job? If the company concern don't trust her employees, the third-party has no business calling each individual to check if the job is done! Doing some favor as goodwill is alright, but not to the extent that every single request and beyond the job scope will be done and delivered.

Information dissemination is good enough for the third-party to do, and it's up to the company concerned to make sure that things are done properly.

To have more revenue is to sell more. That's the simplest formula that works for any company and make profits.

Is the company that desperate to get revenue? Maybe the question is just too obvious!!!!

I heard this phrase during school days, and sometimes when there were discussions on subjects when people didn't really have so in-depth knowledge on what were being discussed.

Lately I heard a comment on how problematic a system could be. I wanted to use such phrase, but try to restrain myself in doing so. I understand the whole situation, and a good friend told me that I talk so direct that people may get offended. She further said that even if I intend to make joke or fun of it, people may not understand. So with all these, I have more reasons not to say anything.

If there's a discussion on the topic which I knew, then I may have the opportunity to show them the way.

Most often people just echoed what they heard what the other people were talking, though they didn't really fully understand what they're talking about. These people even have problems performing jobs in their own area of responsibility. Definitely, these people will have problem outside of their fields.

Anyway, the points here are:
1. Know and understand the subject matter in details.
2. Before you clean up other's backyard, you need to clean up your own backyard first.

One obvious problem/issue here is that people pretend to be the expert on things they don't even understand.

What's the purpose of life?

Have you ever asked this question? What's the purpose of life?

This may sound pathetic and maybe alarming, but there will be a time when somebody will ask this question to himself. Most likely this will be asked when the person is in it's lowest and maybe feeling depressed.

Sometimes you may feel that you already achieved your goals, and doing more is no longer valuable. It doesn't mean that you already get to the level in which other people are expecting you to be, but it's the goal that the individual set for himself has been achieved. Or maybe it's the loss of the sense of existence.

Religions or believers tend to explain what life is all about. But most often, it's being explained in relation to God and life after death.

Philosophers also tried to explain life by telling how they see it. Most often, it boils down on how to live life to the fullest.

We too, may have to go through religion or philosophy to seek answers to this question.

But do we really have a ready and solid answers? The answers may differ to each individual.

I may tell you when I found my answers, but for now that question still lingers in my mind.

It's an inspirational movie that can touch your feeling. It taught us that the power of love and strong determination can clear all the hurdles that we may encounter, and eventually achieve the goals we set in life.

However, not all people have strong will power to face adversities in life. Supposedly married couples vowed "for better or worse", but often break up happens coz one of the parties can't cope with the situation. It's easier to give up and run away from adversities than to face them.

Sleepless?

Are there reasons of sleeplessness?

Most people will tell you that it's due to worry, anxiety, anger, emotional stress and strain. With all these, the mind keeps on working and unable to rest. Causes may vary from person to person.

Is it because of problem?

Is it because somebody is thinking about you? Or is it because you are thinking of another person? There could be a link! Telepathy? That's a difficult question to answer. There's no proof that telepathy works. Maybe it's just coincidence that two people are thinking each other.

To resolve sleeplessness is to know and understand the cause.

Action is necessary to workout on the solution once its reason is known.

hmmm... I suppose an action plan has to be worked out first... argh!!!

Hope Springs

Movie depicting an English artist who ran off to America when his fiancee announced to marry another man. He found a girl who taught him all about keeping a smile. His relationship became complicated when his ex-girlfriend showed up and wanted to make up with their relationship.

The plot and the story line I think it's a bit boring. The script writer could have made the story better.

What's the purpose of the movie? Entertainment. That means we enjoy and understand what's being presented.

There's a point to ponder in this movie though. Trust and honesty are factors for a smooth relationship, otherwise it will be turbulent. :D
